We had some time to kill before catching a movie at the UA Kaufman Astoria Cinemas last night so we decided to grab some dinner.  Since it was New Year’s Day, a lot of places were closed.  We decided to wing it and take a stroll a few blocks down and an avenue away and stumbled upon Locale in Astoria.

We had a delicious pre-movie meal of braised beef meatballs ($9) and rigatoni bolognese ($16).  Service was great and they even sped up a bit when we told them we were rushing to catch a movie.

We’ll definitely stop in again to try some cocktails too!
