Heart of Queens is so excited to be a media partner and to attend the Coalition for Queens’ 3rd annual Tech Bash this October!     Coalition for Queens  is filling a much-needed void by providing programming education and tech opportunities for “talented adults from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds” in our diverse borough.  They are on a mission to make Queens into a “leading hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.”  Come out to  MOMA PS1 on Wednesday, October 14 at 7pm  to celebrate Queens, tech, and entrepreneurship with some amazing vendors.  Some of the vendors include Queens’ very own Bear Restaurant in LIC, The Bao Shoppe in Astoria, and gin drinks from Queens Courage.   Support this great organization and buy your tickets  here .   Early Adopter prices end tomorrow, 9/14, so don’t wait!

St. Francis of Assisi School in Astoria is hosting a wonderful Holiday Market on  Sunday, December 8th from 9am-4pm.  
 Stop by to do some holiday shopping at some great local vendors AND donate to a good cause.  The school is collecting new, unwrapped toys for children affected by Hurricane Sandy through “The Sandy Claus Project.”

Raise Money while you Shop in LIC!

One of my favorite stores, LIC: living, is hosting a special event this Thursday, September 26th to raise money for PS/IS 78, which is right here in Long Island City.

The Center for the Holographic Arts is transforming the Long Island City Clock Tower lobby and vaults into an enchanting gallery of holograms.  Intrigued?  Perceive a hologram in “real life” at the exhibit this September, which features top holographic artists from around the world.
